About The Economist
The Economist was first published in September 1843, to take part in “a severe contest between intelligence, which presses forward, and an unworthy, timid ignorance obstructing our progress”.
Today it is the most influential weekly publication in the world, with a
circulation of over one million.
In addition to its main office in London, The Economist has editorial offices in Bangkok, Beijing, Berlin, Brussels, Cairo, Delhi, Chicago, Jerusalem, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Moscow, New York, Paris, San Francisco, São Paulo, Tokyo and Washington.
CFO (New York and Boston) and
CFO Europe (London)
CFO was bought by The Economist Group in the 1980s. It is the leading publication for Chief Financial Officers.
The publication was originally almost exclusively American. A new title – CFO
Europe – was added later. All are published monthly.
Foundation interns may be offered a spell working at CFO or CFO
Europe.
